Walking through Nanak’s Pakistan with Haroon Khalid – SEPTEMBER 28, 2020 5:00 PM(UK) ON ZOOM

Walking through Nanak’s Pakistan with Haroon Khalid – SEPTEMBER 28, 2020 5:00 PM(UK) ON ZOOM

Talking about Guru Nanak’s life, philosophy and legacy through gurdwaras in Pakistan. Khalid describes his travels across the length and breadth of Pakistan as he visits the many gurdwaras and other locales associated with the saint, delving into their history and musing about their place and significance in a Muslim country. But this book is not merely a story about gurdwaras, it is also a re-telling of the story of Nanak the son, the poet, the wanderer, the father, the friend. Sifting through the stories of his miracles and poetry, we emerge with a picture of Nanak, the man.

This is for all local and overseas communities enjoyment on Saturday, 21st November from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

We are dedicating this event to our chosen Charity: Time To Talk Befriending ; excellence accredited befriending charity tackling loneliness through friendship, connection and engagement. A worthy charity in light of current global situation. Please phone 01273 737710 or email the charity if anyone wishes to donate, use or provide their own time and services. We also want to take this opportunity to promote: Bags of Kindness / Bags of Kindness Facebook Group , a group which supports, encourages and inspires individuals, communities and businesses to donate Bags of Kindness on Birthdays, Anniversaries and Special Occasions to support the local community and bring us closer together. They have been for a long time generously supporting groups from the homeless to the elderly community.

This event is being achieved with support from Brighton & Hove County Council whilst working together with ‘Indian Colours’ , The Chattri Memorial Group and other interested local organisations of the ‘Brighton Indian Community’.
